Dust.

“Dust” is a new project in the works exploring ways to commemorate items from parenthood. Using flocking as something that ages and appears to decompose these objects of childhood/parenting detritus as well as elevates, softens, and turns these objects into keepsakes.

I am working on a companion family performance with my children flocking my body and specifically my womb which is lovingly commemorated as an object also of the past.

Dust Performance

I documented an at home performance as part of an ongoing series of “Home Movie Performances”. Dust took place in my bed and my children painted and flocked my stomach. This work speaks to those in between “throw away” moments around special events in parenting. As much as you try to control and curate events, again, nothing is in your control.
